Ortis was born on the beautiful Island of Jamaica West Indies. He migrated to the United State as a young man. It did not take him long to find a career that he loved after he decided not to serve in the United State army.

He began to work as an Elevator technician and quickly fell in love with his job and rise to the top as one of the best troubleshooters in the business, which he was acknowledged for. He demonstrated an impeccable work ethic and had an impressive 29 years career in the Elevator industry.

Ortis had demonstrated and model himself with elite characteristics such as ,he was a leader, ambitious, Brave, Original, caring, self-assured, humble, Generous, adventurous and daring, but above all he believed in god and wasn't afraid of talking about his feelings of gratitude for all that God had allowed him to achieved.

He was a father who takes great pride in fatherhood and was always active in his children's lives and wouldn't hold back from talking about their accomplishments and progress and his love for them. The bond shared between him and his mother was one like no other. He loves his family. He was a loyal friend. These are some of the titles that were near and dear to his heart.

A true Philanthropist he was, he believed in living life to the fullest. He often shared a deep concern for human welfare and advancement of his people; He stood by his conviction and take action and traveled several times each year to Jamaica to give back to his community.

He was committed to making  a difference he crafted fund days for the children, organized cricket matches with teams from different communities and reward the teams with trophy and money ,along with doing other community projects like seeking out members of his community who is working to bring the community together and publicly acknowledge them and  financial compensated  them for their contributions. He established businesses and employed individuals from his community and neighboring communities He was never too busy to listen to the needs of those who need his assistance and provide for their needs.

Over the years he gained the respect of the people in and out of his community. Ortis generosity had no limit, his love for humanity can't be duplicated; he left an undeniable mark on the way he honored his earthly assignments. He is greatly missed by many, we will not let his love for humanity fade away, we will continue to advance his legacy.
